Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Cambistell collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It describes the site as it is actually built.

What we collect

When you submit the registration form we collect the first name, last name, email address and phone number you enter, along with the country dial code your phone number was entered against.

If you go on to open an account, the broker collects the identity documents and financial information required by Australian anti-money-laundering rules. We receive confirmation that verification was completed rather than copies of the documents themselves.

How the registration form is submitted

The form sends the details you type to our registration service so that an account manager can contact you. The request is sent over an encrypted connection, and your IP address is recorded by that service at the time of submission for fraud prevention.

Country detection and the phone field

The country shown beside the phone field is guessed from your browser's own timezone setting, which is read locally on your device. We do not call an IP geolocation service, we do not use location data from your device, and no data leaves your browser to work out which country to display. The guess is only a default: you can change the country yourself at any time.

Cookies and local storage

The site does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and does not use third-party analytics. A small amount of information may be stored in your browser's local storage so that your session behaves consistently; this is not shared with anybody.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. We do not load advertising pixels, social media tracking scripts or third-party analytics on this site.

Who we share it with

Information is shared with the partner broker where it is necessary to open or administer your trading account, and with service providers who operate parts of the registration and communication process on our behalf.

We may disclose information where we are required to by law, by a court order, or by a regulator, and where it is necessary to investigate fraud or a security incident.

How long we keep it

Registration enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond to them and to meet record-keeping obligations. Records connected to a trading account are kept for the period required by Australian financial services and anti-money-laundering legislation.

Security

Traffic to and from this site is encrypted using 256-bit SSL. Access to personal information is limited to staff who need it to perform their role, and identity documents are held under Australian privacy law.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to retain it. Contact us using the details on the contact page and we will respond within a reasonable period.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page changes with it. The date below shows when it was last updated.
